At the 2025 Paris VivaTech Innovation Conference, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced that Europe plans to build over 200 AI data centers in the coming years, with a key focus on investing in at least five large-scale AI “super factories” (Gigafactories). Each factory will be equipped with hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs to drive the development of localized “sovereign AI” across Europe.
Huang emphasized that this initiative will enable a tenfold increase in AI computing power in the European region over the next few years, significantly alleviating the current shortage of AI infrastructure.
Among the key partners, French startup Mistral AI has collaborated with NVIDIA to deploy 18,000 Blackwell GPUs at a data center near Paris, aiming to establish Europe’s leading large model training platform.
NVIDIA’s strategic expansion in Europe signifies not only its leadership in GPU technology but also its accelerating role as a core driver of global AI industrial infrastructure.
