Cornelis (formerly Mellanox) has made a new breakthrough in AI data center interconnectivity. Cornelis has launched the CN5000 network chip, which supports the connection of up to 500,000 AI chips. Cornelis has released the new OmniPath network chip CN5000, which uses loss and congestion control technology to achieve a doubling of message rate, a reduction of 35% in latency, and a sixfold increase in AI collaborative communication speed. This technology will begin delivery in the third quarter of 2025, with the initial users including the U.S. Department of Energy, and the version compatible with Ethernet will be launched in 2026.
